Post-Production Solutions in Northwest Arkansas

On-Site Digital Imaging Capabilities
Our on-site digital imaging services ensure your project runs smoothly from the start. We handle essential tasks such as off-loading camera cards, backing up media, ingesting and aligning audio, logging slate data, applying camera looks, and exporting proxies or dailies for review. With access to every take in the archive during production, reviewing in the field becomes effortless. Our expertise ensures your digital assets are managed efficiently, allowing you to focus on capturing the perfect shot.

Media Management
The role of “DIT” is predominantly associated with off-loading camera cards and backing up media. While this is a fundamentally essential function of the role, there’s quite a bit more to it.
The Green Yonder DIT is also responsible for ingesting and aligning audio, logging slate data, applying camera looks and exporting proxies or dailies for the team to review.
VTR • Video Tape Recording
“VTR” or “Playback” is the recording of camera sources and replaying clips in real-time for team review.
Far too often the entire production relies on the ACs to stop down and dig into the camera settings, find the clips, roll them, stop them, start them over, etcetera – while the entire production comes to standstill.
Our VTR solution features instant playback of every clip from every day of production, with audio synced and ready for review. We even utilize a mobile app that streams to anyone’s approved iPhone or iPad.
Shooting with more than one camera? Not a problem. Our software records the feeds in tandem and plays them back in sync. You ever watch two camera operators try and hit “play” at the same time? It’s never pretty.

Editing
It’s fascinating how much time goes into editing a full-feature film – and how much of that time is spent organizing footage, aligning audio, marking takes, and setting up scenes. Wouldn’t it be great if you could have someone on-site organizing the edit and creating rough cuts to go along with the dailies?
20 years ago, it would have been a very expensive proposition, but advances in technology have made this type of work far more feasible. You don’t need an entire edit suite anymore – in many cases, this type of thing can be knocked out in the field on a laptop, performed in-stride with other responsibilities.
Imagine getting to post-production with a movie that’s already over half-way put together, with director’s notes, color files and comments added right into the project, ready to go for your primary editor. Sounds nice, right?
Live Grading
Over the past 10 years, the technological landscape surrounding cameras and their sensors has become an incredibly exciting and confusing place. Colors are interpreted in a seemingly endless flavor array of SDRs, HDRs, WDRs, Rec 709s and BT2020s interpreted in a massive catalog of LUTs and looks, and those all appear different depending on what monitor you’re watching.
Having someone onsite who can show you exactly what your scene is going to look like as an end product, and can also manipulate that image to your specification, is an absolute game-changer. We can also pass these color profiles along to your editors and colorists, so you don’t have to explain yourself twice.

Production Hard Drive & Shuttle Drive Rentals
Production drives (the hard drives that your footage is stored on during and after production) are a pretty major investment that lose a lot of their value the moment you purchase them. What’s more - they are pretty much worthless to producers once the footage has been ingested by post-production.
We offer a rental program that will save you (literally) thousands of dollars on this technology, and when production wraps, you’re not left with assets that need to be sold to reclaim the value on.

Post-House
Post-House
The traditional “post-house” model that we used in the 80s and 90s is - for lack of a better term and with no biased - obsolete.
Post-production no longer requires multiple $250K editing bays, servers that were only available to multi-million-dollar corporations can now be purchased off the shelf, and 2-3 people can manage tasks that previously required dozens.
We embrace these technological advances and turn them into exponential returns for our clients. By eliminating unneeded overhead, we can invest in the areas that bring the most value to you and expedite turnarounds for your project.

Post-Production Supervisor
Post-Production Supervisor
When navigating the murky waters of post-production for a feature film or other major project, it’s important to have someone on your side who understands the different phases of the process, manage budgets surrounding those phases, and anticipate challenges that could end up taking big chunks out of your bottom line.
With over 15 years of post-production management under our belts, we understand the ways this process can be simplified, and how to make it as painless as possible for you and your team.

Data Housing / LTO Backup
Data Housing / LTO Backup
Did you know that an Arri Alexa 35 shooting at open gate records roughly a terabyte per hour of footage? We do. Did you know that the average low-budget feature’s shooting ratio is 20:1 so that means if you’ll likely need 40 TB of storage for a 2-hour film, and 80 TB of storage if you’re using two cameras? We knew that one as well.
Look - we’re nerds. We’re cool with it. We research this stuff, keep the gear updated, and know what it takes to keep your project’s data safe and accessible. This means that while in the heat of the post-production process, we keep your raw files nice and safe in multiple locations, so you don’t have to worry about losing a single byte of information.
While we’re at it, we can back up that information onto industry standard LTO tape that’s rated to last for 30+ years, so when you’re ready to remaster your film in 2054, you’ll have the same files then that you have now.

By understanding that we can’t be the best at everything (and honestly, anyone who claims they are might not have done their research) we are in a better position to make your look and sound it’s best, and by transparently managing freelance talent, we can do it at a more affordable rate than larger traditional post-production houses.
